Hello, my name is Michael Overzat, pseudonym Prescott Fry. I am fictional writer from Hagerstown, Maryland and I am cu
rrently in the process of self-publishing my first novel, A Toy Box in a Funhouse.
The novel is a mix between horror, sci-fi, and phsychlogical thriller, but WHAT SETS IT APART is that it portrays discrimination by United States Police Officers against minorities through the struggles of the protagonist, Clay Turner.
I am currently meeting with a independent Producer, Izad-Mehr, to create a small minute and thirty second teaser to promote this novel between the target audience,(ages-15-25), with the hopes of his one-day becoming a feature film.
As for the history behind this piece, initially, i didnt want to publish because the material was too controversial, especially because it portrayed an even where an Hagerstown Police Officer committed the crimes.
After about seven months of sitting on the shelf, a black man, Derrill Brown, 35, was killed at the hands of the Hagerstown Police by an electric gun. These events are just coincidence, but it still inspired me to go throug with publishing.
Of the top three donors, your name will be published in the novel along with a free copy.
