Honor Band of America

My name is Jonathan Sims. I am a senior in high school in Tampa, Florida and I am a hardcore band geek. Recently, I was accepted into the prestigious Honor Band of America. That is to say, of those auditioning throughout the country, I was accepted as one of the 8 best tuba players in the nation.

Music has always played an important role in my life, throughout my difficult childhood, music was always there. Because I found this passion early on in life, I knew from a young age what direction my Iife is going. I plan on going to college and majoring in music education so I can share my love of music with others.

The honor band of America is an opportunity that won't present itself again, and it is something that will be life changing for me.  I will receive world class instruction from world renown conductors and players.
