Support Eric's medical journey.

It's been a journey for Eric. A journey that started 13 years ago. After suffering a cardiac arrest when he was 7 weeks, to now the age of 13  Eric has spent years being the strongest boy his family knows.  The last 3 years have been especially hard with 12 surgeries, multiple surgery failures and redo's. Missing school and friends, constant trips to the hospital and clinics.  This past April we were referred to take Eric from Virginia where we live to Cleveland, Ohio  to see a motility specialist at the Cleveland Clinic. In May Eric underwent  his 13th major abdominal where he finally made the decision to have his colon removed. We have been traveling back and foth from Virginia to Cleveland for follow-ups and such July to November. Our most recent visit in December for what was supposed to be 1 appointment and go home the next day has resulted in presently a 3 week outpatient stay. Going to the clinics for appointments and testing a few times a week.  We're consulting for inpatient rehab next week and if accepted that will keep us here in Ohio for an additional 4-6 weeks. The timing is really unknown at the time. The time away from home and family/friends has taken both a emotional and financial toll on us so we have decided on some friends requests to finally start a gofundme account in hopes to help with some of Eric's mounting bills, the cost of being away from home, travel costs and payments to the Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland where we are presently living and have been since December 20th.  Thank you for all the prayers and letters of encouragement that are being sent to Eric. He is such a fighter and we know he's going to overcome these setbacks!
