UPDATE - July, 2019
We are all very excited that the restoration process is underway. Contractor has indicated 3 weeks for completion, however are learning that weather has and will change plans. Yes, donations are still needed.
The initial estimate was around $35K, it is now realized at a total of $42k. This was made before full extent of ponds condition was determined. When the engineering study was done and conditions were fully exposed, we realized more extensive excavation would be required and a perimeter barrier was needed to sure up shore lines.
We have raised $38K, but still leaves us $6-$8k short for completion and fill water. We are so very grateful for the generosity of so many, individuals, families and businesses alike. And, have taken this step of faith to proceed with construction with confidence the balance will be provided!
Our contractor has also established a "Temporary Pond" for our wildlife while construction is on-going. This will help provide some relief from the heat for our ducks and geese, and will help offer some relief for those that have been diligently filling the baby pools with fresh water.
