Jess Golding Australian Skeleton Athlete
Donation protected
Hey!
Thanks for taking some time to visit my Go Fund Me page.
I am raising money to be able to compete in the 2013/14 North American Cup Skeleton Season.
What is skeleton you say? Why is an Australian competing in a winter sport you say?
Well - skeleton is a fast, winter sliding sport where athletes travel down a frozen bobsleigh track (head first) on a sled. Athletes can experiences forces up to 5g's and reach speeds up to 80 mph! Think cool runnings...got it?
Athletes usually find themselves in the sport of skeleton after transitioning from another sport with a similar skill set. It is not uncommon to find a lot of sprinters competing in the sport of skeleton... For me, it was motorsport. I have raced karts since I was 10 years old and have also raced Formula Ford and tested Formula BMW.
Basically - I am used to high g-forces, speed, race lines and qualifying!
Why help me?
Your donation today will assist in helping me make the first step towards my dream which is to compete at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Korea.
What will this money be used for?
As a development slider, our racing seasons are only partially funded. As we progress through the program athletes receive more funding.
Your money will be helping me with travel costs, equipment and accommodation for the 2013/14 North American Cup Skeleton Season.
