Jeff Zimpel Memorial Fund

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we let you know of the untimely passing of Jeffrey L. Zimpel. Beloved to countless friends and family, Jeff died unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 4, 2018.

Jeff leaves behind his children, Angela and Andy Zimpel; two step-daughters, Erika Hotchkiss and Mary Jacobson; nine grandchildren; along with countless other relatives and very dear friends.

Jeff proudly served his country volunteering for three tours of duty in the United States Army, 173rd Airborne Brigade during the Vietnam War, earning many accommodations including a bronze medal.

Lovingly known as “Zimp” or “Zippy” to those closest to him, Jeff never met a stranger and was known to help anyone he came in contact with. He lived life to the fullest, spending time with his family and friends, traveling around the world, cheering on the Chicago Cubs and enjoying long car rides with his black lab, Buddy. Jeff’s bright smile, contagious laugh and generous spirit will be greatly missed.   Jeff was exceptional in so many ways. His enthusiasm, passion, and zest for life were infectious.

To help Jeff’s family offset upcoming medical, funeral and other expenses, a memorial fund has been established to give the opportunity to support his family during this difficult time.

Please consider helping to ease their financial burden and pay tribute to Jeff.

We appreciate anything you can give – there is no donation too small.
