Vallejo Deaf Church has been in existence since 1997 and is based in Vallejo, CA. We provide a place of worship, education, and spiritual support to every deaf individual as well as hearing people. We serve all ages and everyone is welcome to attend all the services provided by this ministry.
This year, our family ministry is growing and we would like to expand the services we provide to our children beginning from nursery to high school. Many are deaf children while others are CODAs (Children of Deaf Adults), they are born hearing from deaf parents. We are also partnering with the educational institutions in the nearby vicinity in order to provide after school programs.
We have talented volunteers who work in the church and they have lots of skills and experience in the areas of education, activity development, vocational programs, spiritual growth etc. Through their efforts, we would like to provide support and help to as many children as possible, who are drawn to come to church including their parents.
The funds we will be raising at this time are for various educational and spiritual activities for our children including child care, vocational programs, youth ministry groups, and various after school activities. Our goal is to provide a secure, comfortable and nurturing enviroment for our children, where they feel safe, selcome and accepted; and able to grow and thrive physically, mentally and spiritually. To this end, we need to make some improvements such as security fencing, HVAC, new windows, as well as minor structural improvements to meet safety hazard requirements. With the help of our local partners, we would like also to expand our after school activities for both boys and girls to include little league, and this would require that we provide our own children's uniforms. In addition, our volunteers are also in need of computer hardware and software, to effectively administer these programs and activities.
