Jayla's Surgery Fund SoSheCanWalk!

Donation protected

Jayla doesn't really look like this right now.  :(

She has wounds on her face and legs, a split open upper lip, a gash on the side of her abdomen, a few bone fractures, and she's not really standing or walking.

Well, that's because on Sunday afternoon Jayla jumped out of my car window, out of a 2  1/2  inch opening, while the car was going 60mph on a highway outside of Atlanta, GA (I-85).  She  squeezed herself out in just a few seconds as I drove, unable to let go of the wheel to stop her.  Then, she fell on the asphalt and tumbled to the right.

Within seconds I pulled over to the side of the highway and ran back down the shoulder to find Jayla.
I approached the area where I thought she might of fallen but, but she wasn't right there.  I expected to see Jayla's mangled body on the side of the road.
I looked around and then spotted her to the right on the other side of an adjacent highway. Immediately, I went to cross the highway, waited for a small gap in the cars rushing by, ran as fast as I could across. .
Jayla must have done the same thing. It was a miracle she wasn't hit by any cars.

Poor little Jayla was all shaken up against a tall fence with blood all over her face. I picked her up gently and tightly kept her in my arms, looked for another gap in the cars. I ran back with her up against my chest and we both got back to the car safely.
We were both in shock.

Within 45 minutes we were at Blue Pearl Emergency Animal Hospital in Sandy Springs, GA (one of the only places open on this Sunday of Memorial Day weekend).

Now, Jayla's condition was found to be stable, but her face & body had received quite the impact.

Of the three fractures she has, one is a major pelvis fracture. Her femur is now positioned higher up, where the socket of her pelvis would be if it was intact and straight, but it is broken and bent. It rubs up against her broken pelvis when she walks.

She cannot walk without great pain.

In order to not be in constant pain her whole life, she needs a surgery called, FHO (Femural Head Osteomy).  Basically, they remove the head of the femur so as the bone heals it does not rub up against the pelvis, and this allows her to heal properly. (Here's an article about it:  http://www.vetsurgerycentral.com/fho.htm)

I already have paid around $650 for her care thus far and am fundraising for the additional $1000 her surgery will cost.
(The second vet I saw actually quoted the surgery to be between $3500 to $5500, and asked for a $4400 deposit to continue with care. Fortunately, I have been able to find a low-cost but skilled surgeon to agree to do the surgery for just a $thousand$.) www.vetagogobus.com

BUT the surgery has to be done soon for best results and the vet can do it this Friday May 29th.
Please help me raise funds to get as close to the cost of surgery as possible by Friday!!

This is the most affordable option I've found (and is a total score), and still it is far too expensive.

If you even donate a few dollars it will help.

Also! If you wish to talk to me you are more than welcome to call (302) [phone redacted] or email me at [email redacted]

Thank you for reading this, and if you can't donate any dollar dollar bill$, you can send Jayla your love and pray for her to feel better.
