The district of Kahama, Tanzania, Africa has one hospital for 1,000,000 people. There is an extreme shortage or lack of medical equipment. The hospital in Kahama is in dyer need of a portable ultrasound machine to enable health care professionals to travel to the outlying villages and identify high risk pregnancies.
These high risk mothers could then be transported to the district hospital. Pre-natal and post natal care is lacking and mother and infant deaths are statistically extremely high. It is imperative we raise money for a portable ultrasound machine and give these moms and babies a chance to survive.
