Hello Supporters:

I am Dr. JaTaya Wiley.  By God’s grace, it is my honor and privilege to officially take the reign as the newly crowned Ms. Ohio Plus America 2015.  Proudly representing Ms. Cleveland OH, on May 23rd I was crowned with the state title.


The Miss Plus America Pageant System is an organization devoted to celebrating the essence of the full-figured woman. For the last fourteen years, it has been the premier plus size pageant. Miss Plus America, and its Queens, have been featured in Time Magazine, the Huffington Post, Entertainment Tonight, Dr. Phil, and the Examiner amongst other press outlets. The present and former Queens are trailblazers in various industries including Education, Politics and Social Services. I am honored to use my reign to help empower, impact, and elevate my community. 

In honor of my brother-in-law and father-in-law, I will be advocating for Suicide Prevention and Awareness.  My platform is Alive On Purpose. Alive On Purpose is a non-profit movement that is dedicated to the promotion of life by finding help for people struggling with depression, trauma, and suicide. Alive On Purpose is committed to preventing suicide and giving people the tools necessary to live productive lives.  My goal is to encourage, inspire and uplift  girls and young women who are struggling with depression and thoughts of suicide by promoting confidence and self-esteem.  According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, every 13 minutes someone in our country dies from suicide. Suicide is the second leading cause of death for young adults aged 15 - 24 year olds. For every one suicide there are 25 suicide attempts.  For me, pageantry is more than beauty and glamour.  If my crown and sash can help save even one soul it would be my greatest accomplishment.


I will be competing for the national title of Ms. Plus America 2015 July 27th- August 1st! This journey will have several expenses that will need to be covered such as registration fees, wardrobe, meals, travel/hotel fees, etc. As you can imagine, I will definitely need your support, thoughts and prayers as I embark on this journey.
