Hi, thanks for looking and taking the time to read Jacks story.
Jack has been playing inline roller hockey for around 3 years and as parents it is great to see our son be so focused and determined doing something he loves. Jack loves many different sports as young boys do but hockey is where his heart is for sure.
Jack doesn't just play hockey, he's an avid ice hockey fan too and goes to watch the Sheffield Steelers regularly as well as following NHL teams on the net and YouTube. I think it's safe to say this kid is into hockey in a big way!
Jack has been selected to play for the under 12s and under 14s Young Guns UK Hockey team that is travelling to Fort Wayne, Indiana to take part in the 2016 USA State Wars Tournament. This is one of the largest Inline Hockey Tournaments in the world and is the 1st time a team from outside of the USA has been invited to take part.
State Wars is an Inline Hockey Tournament held over 2 weeks in July/August. Young Guns Hockey has been taking players to the USA for a number of years now. Not only do the players improve on their hockey skills but they also learn to be part of a team and to survive away from the comforts of home. They will come away from the trip with skills that will help them in their future life, a fantastic memory and a whole new set of friends.
This is a tremendous achievement for Jack as over 60 people trialled for a place on the team and it is an honour for all of the successful players to be part of British Inline Hockey history.
As with all minority sports, these trips have to be self funded and any help with the costs will be gratefully received, every penny counts. The £1000 is what Jack will need once he arrives in Indiana and doesn't cover any flights!
If you are a company and would like to be a sponsor in return for your donation Jack Stocks will wear your logo on his helmet and for a minimum of a £100 donation, your company logo will appear on Jack's off pad kit.
