Save my horse Balvenie

Donation protected

My name is Karoline, I am 24 years old and I live in Sweden with my horse Balvenie.
"Bavel" is my mother's breeding so we have been best friends her entire life. I call her my pony because she is small and cute.
She has been diagnosed with a Sinunasal Osteoma, which is a type of tumor inside the head that is extremly complicated to remove.

I have managed to get the very best major equine surgeons on board, but the surgery can only be done in Germany which my insurance company here in Sweden won't cover.
We have to get the surgery, or else she will not live to see her 6th birthday.
And we really love birthdays.
Balvenie means the world to me. She is too important for me not to fight for every chance we have to make it.

I need 5000 €. That is the expense for the surgery only. The costs for travelling and post-surgery treatment are excluded.
The funds will go directly to the "Tierärztliche Klinik Gessertshausen" which is the equine hospital in Munich, Germany. I will document the entire journey from Gothenburg to Munich, including financial records.
I have fought to engage some of the world's leading experts in this type of surgery. They all work with cases like Balvenie's on a daily basis but have never seen anything as complicated. With the plan that they have come up with, the prognosis is however very good and hopes are high that she will survive and live a long pain-free life.
Every donation and share counts. I will do whatever I can to repay every donor in any way.
If I do not reach my goal, I will work with what you all were kind enough to help me with and discuss a payment plan with the involved surgeons.

Please find screen shots of the email that explains the surgery more closely (Feel free to get in touch with me about more information and/or translation).

When Balvenie was just one year old, she lived at a farm for young horses far away from me. I had not seen her for a couple of months when I came to get her at the age of 2,5. My mother and I discovered a scar under her eye which turned out to be from a branch that had cut through her head a couple of months earlier.
The owner of the farm had seen it, but did not bother to have a vet check it or even tell us.
The tumor  comes from this accident.
I cannot let this beautiful and innocent angel die because of the tiny little mistake she made when she was a baby, namely playing in the woods. I cannot see my best friend and soul mate suffer. We must fight. Please help us fight our battle. Please, help us win.

The risk of the surgery is that she will not make it as the surgery is complicated and there are many risks. One risk is that it is a very long surgery and the other is that the tumor has grown so that we may have to remove her eye.
However! Balvenie is a fighter. She has been called a medical miracle because she has not only survived the tumor so far, but also because she has competed in jumping and eventing like a pro despite being in pain.
I know she is tough and I am giving her all she needs to be prepared for the surgery - an accurate feeding plan, a training scheme to ensure she is strong and has endurance  and of course loads of love and attention.
On the medical side, I have contacted all of these vets and surgeons and managed to get them engaged and work really hard with our case. We will have the very best of the best in charge of Balvenies surgery.
My mother has arranged the practical details for our trip to Munich and other important things that need to be in order. We are a great time!

I am primarily asking for help to fund the surgery. Any amount you can contribute with is gold worth to my heart. If you know someone or something else that can aid me in raising enough for this, it is equally as appreciated.
Aside from funding, sharing and caring is much appreciated. If you have a kind word, please say it. If you have a story of your own, please tell it. If you feel that you care about me and Balvenie, please share this. Here you can see how the tumor shows on the outside. The tumor also causes the eye to run, which is the reason why we found it in the first place.
