Giving Yale the Gift of Gab!

Yale was born with a severe heart defect that required many open heart surgeries and numerous unending procedures. All efforts to save him lead to a heart transplant before the age of one. During his surgeries his vocal cords were pemanently injured, his left lung became non functioning, and he has had many learning diffuculties. When he was 5 he needed tubes put in his ears as he was virtually deaf. As a result of all of his challenges he has been diagnosed with Speech Sound Disorder. Imagine having the knowledge to communicate, but your brain just cannot tell your muscles to form the words. Luckily there are programs and devices that can help Yale to communicate. He is behind in his social development becaus cannot share his ideas with his peers, his family, or teachers and doctors. As a result he is falling behind in school. Professionals that work with augmentative and alternative communication devices have indicated that the best way to help Yale is to get him a much needed ipad and programming. The app would allow Yale to simply press a picture, to build ideas and share them with the world. Any and all help is very much appreciated. Its hard as a parent to set your pride aside to ask for help, but as a parent, I know I need to do any and everything I can to help Yale succeed in life. We are very humbled by the assitance offered and cannot wait to see Yale blossom and thrive. Thank You will never seem like enough for the generosity aimed towards us and our family.

 This little boy is a warrior and has defeated the odds.. he deserves to be heard in the classroom an with his peers! So, lets bring on the Holiday cheer and band together to give this deserving little boy the "Gift of Gab" this Christmas!
