I’m hoping that the community we live in can come together to not only give this family aspiration but the means to concentrate on their health, not the financial aspects of our daily lives that weigh so much on us.

We all live with some degree of complications in our lives, most are fixable. This story is heartbreaking and not easily fixed.

This family encountered endless saddening events. The nightmare never seemed to end.  But the daughter Hayley Kay, would say, “at least we have our health and each other”.

The Kay family encountered financial heartship due to the times of the economy where they had lost almost everything they had worked so hard for.

Still Hayley Kay would continuously keep her head up and would say, “at least we have our health and family”.

The father, of this beautiful family was born with a kidney disease causing them to slowly degenerate knowing that one day he would be in need of a transplant. This hereditary disease  was passed down to their only son, therefore he could not be a donor. Hayley Kay was now the only possible donor in the family because also unfortunately the mother is diabetic. The father was put on a donor list when informed of his kidney only working at 15%. Hayley was ready and willing to give her kidney to save her father the pain of waiting and being on dialysis.

October 2014 Hayley was in St. Lucia for a wedding, she mentioned eye pains and headaches. Not knowing what would soon spiral into the shocking unknown. Hayley returned home, shortly finding out she had a tumor behind the eye. So far in her short journey she has been authorized by doctors and specialists not to work and was put on an emergency wait list for a biopsy. Leaving her struggling parents to pick up the pieces and support Hayley and their 3 year old grandchild.

Hayley received a  phone call from her eye specialist requesting the surgery immediately due to the nature of the situation and receive a biopsy. Hayley went in for surgery on December 3, 2014 and this is where they discovered that this was not just a tumor behind the eye. The horrible news grew more concern as the eye specialist discovered the tumor was massive and was located in her brain. So large it was coming from the left side of her brain and making its way to the right. It was so large and alarming that the eye surgeon did not proceed with the surgery and requested a neurosurgeon for further analysis of the situation at hand. Hayley Kay is now awaiting a neurosurgeon to look at the tumor and to finalize whether or not it is benign or malignant. Regardless of the outcome Hayley will endure a very long time off work due to the situation and hopeful recovery.

This family is in dire need for financial assistance and I hope to reach out to each and every one of you to find a place in your heart to allow this family to concentrate on their health, each other and their road to recovery.

Please pray for this family at this time. Extreme gratitude from all friends and family of the Kay’s.

The Kay’s spirits will surely be uplifted knowing that people like you and I care so much about people like them.

 Thank you.
