Andy Zajkin's Hip Replacement Fund

My Russian friend Andrew Zajkin, 43, needs hip replacement surgery. A year ago, he was in a car wreck. His first surgery left him unable to walk without a cain. Every step he makes is causing pain.
Andrew and his wife Liudmila have two children. Right now four of them are trying to survive on Liudmila's  $185 a month salary.  Before the accident, Andrew borrowed money for his mother's surgery. Unable to work, he cannot repay this debt and all other debts that he has. Unless he has the surgery, he will not be able to be productive and support his family. It could mean that he and his family will lose evrything.  Andrew is very disheartened that nobody cares about him and his family.  He was able to find a surgeon who agreed to help for 227,000 Russian Rubles. At the time of the qoute it was approximately $5,000. Andrew does not have this amount and a way to save that much.
