Iceland Artists' Residency, and Vikings

Hello, my name is Gordon Murphy: I am 24, a filmmaker and screenwriter trying to break through to the next level of the industry. I have recently been accepted to participate in an artists' residency program in Iceland, in a little town on the northern coast facing the arctic circle. I will have two months in which to work on the project I proposed: a screenplay inspired by Viking culture and Norse mythology. During my two months I will be writing, doing development, researching local culture, art, and music and inform the screenplay, and taking photographs for setting and locations. This is a project that has been in my heart for a long time, and I hope to one day see it produced. This residency in Iceland offers the perfect opportunity: the time I need to work in the place where the source material actually occurred.
