Help My Parents Not Be Evicted!

Hi, I'm Eric. I never dreamed there would be a time when I would be begging my friends, family and you for money, but I am.

My father has been unemployed for quite awhile now and I've watched in heartbreak as my parents go to food banks so they can have food for a few weeks. I've watched my Mom burdened with stress and anxiety, while my Dad does his best to stay positive for the both of them -working 14+ hours a day to try and find an income.

My father has been starting his own business in commercial baking, an industry he has been integrally associated with for over 25+ years. The goal was to have investors purchase bakeries and they would be under his umbrella corporation, which he would run.

Things were going fine, until the first bakery backed out of the deal - and by doing so, he lost his funding. That was 4 months ago.

Now, with less than $200 to their name, they are 3 months behind in rent, and 3 or more months behind on their car payment. If a source of funding does not make itself known in the next week, my parents will be homeless. At 63, my parents, who gave everything in the world to raise four kids, will be homeless - living in a car they will soon lose as well.

I've helped them financially quite a bit, and up until this week, I was jobless as well. I am just starting to get back on my feet as well, and I continue to help my parents with what I can - money here and there, or a gift card to a restaurant so they can have a dinner out.

Galatians 6:2 says, "Carry one another's burdens, and in this way you fulfill the law of Christ."

I'm begging you, beseeching you, imploring you, please, help my parents. I wouldn't come to you, the public, unless we had exhausted all of our options. 

Every dollar you donate will go to my parents and to help keep them in their house for another month - which will, hopefully, be long enough for him to find another source of funding, income, or a job.

Additional funds raised will be used to catch up on car payments so they don't lose their car. 

It would be understandable for people their age, going through a situation like this to be angry, or bitter, or depressed. No one would blame them if they just stayed indoors, shutting out the world. But not my parents. My Dad teaches Sunday School every Sunday morning. Both of them volunteer every week at the mobile clinic at their church - my Mom as a nursing assistant, and my Father as a translator. They are also involved with a small group through their church, and my Mom leads a Bible study every Tuesday for a group of ladies.

The point is - throughout this entire ordeal, my parents have remained faithful to God. They have greater strength than I could ever dream of having. To say I look up to them would be a grave understatement.

Again, I'm begging you for help - any amount - no matter how small - will be humbly accepted and treasured. 

As Christians, we love to do our part with church missions, and sponsoring kids, and supporting charities. I'm asking for you to take a moment, pray about it, and if you feel moved, to please help out two of the greatest people I have ever had the privilege of knowing. My parents.
