Kelle's Cochlear Implant Fundraiser

Donation protected
At age 6, Kelle Elliott contracted a Meningitis infection. The infection resulted the near-complete loss of her capacity to hear. Kelle has forged on regardless, raising a family and working full-time. Notwithstanding her efforts, there are frustrations and difficulties that she continues to live with every day.

As her co-workers at Osprey Lodge Assisted Living, we became aware of a medical procedure called a “Cochlear Implant” which would completely restore Kelle’s hearing. We have researched the cost of the surgery, combined with the year-long post-surgery therapy program. The total cost is just under $100,000. Her company health insurance will cover all of the cost, except for the $10,000 deductible. Our intention is to raise the $10,000 that will cover her insurance deductible.

To learn more about Kelle’s story and how appreciative she would be, view her “Dr. Oz Show” segment that will air December 12, 2014, and follow her progress on our Facebook page "Pounds for Sounds / Gift of Sound”.
