Ally and her twin brother were born in February of 2013 in Tokyo, Japan at just 24 weeks gestation. Jenson weighed 1lb 4oz and Ally weighed 1lb 5oz. Both of them were in the NICU for 117 days before they went home on Father's Day 2013. Since their births, they have been working with speech therapists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists several days a week.
Recently, Ally was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. No, this diagnosis does not define her. This diagnosis, though tough to hear and accept, has allowed for more specific therapies for her as well as gave her parents the answers they needed regarding her condition. During therapies, Ally uses devices and seats that help her do things, such as stand and sit.
There are many items that are made for children with Cerebral Palsy and one of them is called the Upsee by Firefly. This mobility device allows children with disabilities to stand and walk with the assistance of an adult. These support systems cost roughly $550 with shipping and insurance won't cover it because it is not a necessity.
Join me in helping raise the needed funds so that Ally can recieve an Upsee. This would be so great for her, in many ways and for the first time, she would be able to stand and walk with her twin brother, Jenson.
