Hi Everyone! Meet our buddy, Hayden. He is the sweetest and most loving little 2 year old you could ever meet. Like most two year old little boys he loves cars and trains. He enjoys football and baseball with daddy and watching Caillou and Bubble Guppies with his twin sister, Hannah and four year old sister, Hailey. Hayden is affectionate (gives kisses to everyone) and sensitive. Hayden also has cancer.
On August 28, 2014, Hayden woke up with swollen lymph nodes in his neck and within four hours was given the devastating diagnosis of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, or cancer of the white blood cells. Not so long ago this diagnosis would have been considered a death sentence, with lives lasting only a few short months; however today, with chemotherapy and multiple interventions, we have hope for Hayden.
This hope, though, come at a great cost. While Hayden is partially insured, the cost of deductibles, co-pays, and out of pocket expenses are a great financial burden on this one-income household. Hayden's care, in and of itself, is a full-time job which makes it impossible for mom to work outside the home. Hayden's chemotherapy and extensive related treatments are expected to last 3-4 years!
We, his family and friends, are accepting your generous contributions here to alleviate the financial, and subsequent emotional, stress this wonderful family is experiencing.
