A Birthday for Good

This project is inspired by the original Birthday for Good.

December 15 is coming up again, and while I rarely celebrate my birthday anymore, I'd like to use this day to do some good (especially since this is my 21st birthday)!

I can match up to $100 from my friends to give to Arrowhead Reptile Rescue in December. Arrowhead is a not-for-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to rehabilitating injured reptiles, housing abandoned reptile pets, and educating the public about reptiles. They are small and local, with no overhead - every dollar goes straight toward helping the animals.

I chose Arrowhead not just for those great qualities, but also because (as anyone who knows me is aware) I'm personally invested in abandoned reptiles' welfare. I have adopted several snakes (see the picture!) from organizations just like Arrowhead. But many other injured or unwanted reptiles need help, and Arrowhead can provide it.

However, providing care, including medical care, for reptiles is expensive, and most of Arrowhead's funds are provided by volunteers. $500 could mean the difference between having enough medicine and food, or having to turn animals away this winter. But we can be that difference!

Let's give Arrowhead's hardworking volunteers and resident rescues a Christmas miracle :)
