Hi! I'm Elliot.
You might know me as Coordinator of the sustainable agriculture cooperative project High Country CSA.
If you don't know me yet, you need to know that I'm passionate about sustainable agriculture, food systems relocalization, and social justice. I've shaped the past four years of my life to bring me where I am today: coordinating an emerging cooperative of farmers in the High Country, NC! This is my third year as coordinator, and with six successful seasons behind us, we've received (with our partner nonprofit)a 2-year USDA grant to build our capacity!
Over the next two years we plan to radically increase our infrastructure and functional capacity in order to quadruple our membership.
In order to achieve these goals I'm spending the winter of 2014-2015 in business development and marketing training - I'm basically giving myself a crash course in grad school.
This is where you come in. I'm one of only 25 professionals offered a position at the University of Vermont Food Hub Fundamentals program , a four-month online course with two weeks in Vermont. I'm really proud of myself!
And I need your help to afford tuition. I need $250 deposit ASAP to secure my place in the program, and full tuition is due by Friday December 12.
There's a possibility of having funds here matched: I'll update you when I have that commitment. In the meantime, please help me get awesome!
