Last week my mom got in a very serious accident with a semi driver. The accident is completely the truck driver's fault. My mom was attached to the semi on her drivers side and was starting to go under the semi on the passenger side, luckily she managed to jolt the wheel and free herself before. If not, I am scared to say what may have happened to her. My mom has been to the doctor and while she is alive has some really serious injuries including neurogical damage and she is in a lot of pain. The doctor has asked my mom for complete physical restrictions for medical purposes.
Currently, she is working with a lawyer and the insurance company to ensure that everything is properly taken care of. But she cannot get any of her money back until the entire process is complete. Her medical bills and the car repairs. This could take up to another month or more. This means my mom shouldn't be working for another month. My mom is a contractor for work in consignment sales and as Lyft driver. Because the car is in repairsand she isn't able to sit for more than 30 minutes she has no option but not to drive. On weekends she is unable to do her usual shopping for consignment. You can imagine how painful this must be for my mother and stressful not knowing how she is going to pay her bills.
I am reaching out to the community for help. I am currently living in Spain and can't think of any other way to help my mom. For this month she still has $900 in bills that she needs to pay and $1900 for December. I really would like her to stick to the doctors orders and stay home so she can recover, but she needs to work to pay her bills. Not to mention Christmas is right around the corner. This might mean that my little sister will not be able to have much this Christmas. I don't want this one truck drivers mistake to hurt our family more. My little sister is only ten years old and I believe she deserves to have a Christmas of any sort like most children.
So please for my sister and my mother if you can help my family with any donation it would mean the world to us. If I could be there to support her I would but becuase I can't I am trying my hardest to put together something for my mom and my little sister.
