Heartworm treatment for Heidi

Heidi the Homestead Hound is a wonderful Lab/Mastiff mix puppy (almost 2 years old) we rescued. At her “well pup” visit she came back positive for heartworm. The medication needed to treat her is very expensive. The manufacturer doesn’t find it profitable to make, so they charge an arm and a leg for it. They also don’t make a lot of it, further driving up the price. We adopted her to give her a better life and that is just what we are going to do, one way or another.
