Hound Dog Commons: Nashville

Hello, Nashvillians!

Have you ever driven by a beautiful old empty building in East Nashville and dreamed of it reborn as a great local business?? For 1301 Meridian Street, that dream is coming true!

Hound Dog Commons is a new spot for Nashville and their dogs to gather and play, work and learn, shop for and enjoy local art and music. The restoration is underway, but we need your help to fully achieve this vision! Here’s more about what we have in mind.

A 1940s era mechanic’s garage, restored and repurposed as a community hub. Outside, a dog park and dedicated areas for community gardens and food trucks.

Indoors, a multi-purpose space where you can lounge with coffee and tea around a fireplace. Socialize or settle in to work on our high-speed internet. Take a break with a beer and peruse the goods and art in in our permanent craft and farmers market.

There is plenty of space for talented folks to share and teach their craft. DIY-ers with vision but perhaps lacking experience can work with owner Brett Barr to bring their ideas to life.

Brett’s workshop in the old service station is literal farm-to-table, where reclaimed barn doors become communal tables and rusted trucks get a second shot at life. Brett has builder’s background and an artist’s appreciation for salvage materials.

Brett, his gal Jen, and their two hounds, Henry and Charlie, are dedicated to establishing a creative and communal space in East Nashville.

Your donation will help us turn this neighborhood spot into a true community hub. Join us at Hound Dog Commons!

Alternate awards available for out of town donors, please email [email redacted] for more details!
