Hope for Keeley

Keeley's story so far is one of hope, one of inspiration, one of immense love.  It may read like a tragedy, but those who have had the pleasure of meeting her know that she is a ray of sunshine even on her darkest days.  Keeley was born with left sided Hemimegalencephaly.  In basic terms, the left side of her brain overgrew and was malformed.  She suffered hundreds of seizures each day despite massive doses of medication. The only chance at relief from these debilitating seizures was to undergo hemispherectomy surgery, in which the entire left half of her brain was surgically removed.  It took 22 hours, and two surgeries to complete.  Having half of your brain removed can make living a normal life very difficult.  Keeley has had to undergo more than 15 surgeries and countless scans and proceedures. She is not able to walk just yet, and needs a lot of help doing most things. But she is the most wonderful little girl, despite her challenges she is always smiling.  She is brave and determined and strong and keeps fighting. Keeley's neurosurgeon told her that he wants to see her walk.  He believes it is possible, and so does she.  She is working so hard on achieving this but needs help. All funds raised will be put towards expenses for therapy and equipment to help Keeley walk. Never, never, never give up!
