Building Homes for Families in Bali

Hello Friends and Familia!

Where do I even start?! I have never created one of these profiles before. So much pressure to leave a great lasting impression about my cause! I'm getting butterflies. Bear with me.....

First of all, I'm a freshman in college trying to discover where my passion lies and what I want to do as a career. I have always wanted to travel, and I have a passion to help those in need: connecting with people who have suffered from broken families, those who are less fortunate in third world countries, as well as animals and the environment, both which suffer every day.

My ideal career would be to create sustainable homes for the future, teaching the next generation to coincide with nature and preserve our planet. 

Habitat for Humanity is providing a wonderful opporunity to create homes for families in need in Bali, Indonesia this August 8th to August 21, a two week program. This program would give me the chance to make a positive impact on so many lives, as well as give hands on experience with building homes. This is a chance of a life time! I am asking for your help to make a difference in the world and I would be so appreciative of any help or contributions. This trip CAN be possible with your support.

I was inspired to pursue this goal while reflecting on what I have done and what I do in life. While I may be going to school to make a difference in the future, I want to make an impact NOW. Why shouldn't I? Why wait? I work a typical corporate America 9-5 office job where I feel my actions and work do not meet their full potential of value or meaning, I could be doing more. I could do something today and offer my service to those in need, provide them with shelter and more, THAT has true value and meaning in my mind's eye.
