Santiago "Cats" Veterinary Fund

Donation protected
I'm a total cat lady, but I never expected have 6 cats and a dog who thinks she's a cat. Over the last several years, I've ended up adopting several animals that their owners could no longer care for, most recently Helen and Hanna when my mother died last December.

As 5 of the 7 animals in my home are seniors, veterinary care has been getting increasingly expensive and I am having a difficult time keeping up with paying to treat Prince and Mi'ja's chronic and complex medical issues.

Now it is looking like Speck may have a chronic illness as well and I need to ask for help. My veterinary credit card is maxed out and I am anticipating veterinary bills of several hundred dollars or more over the next few weeks as we diagnose and treat Speck, and get Mi'ja and Prince the rechecks they need on schedule.

Speck has lost 2-3 pounds over the last few months (which is a big deal for a cat) and has been vomiting every day. Dr Caldwell also found a mass or swollen lymph nodes in her belly at the examination today. Possible diagnoses range from chronic renal failure to intenstinal lymphoma. Bloodwork will be done today, but we might also need X-rays. Unfortunately, further diagnostics and treatment are currently outside of my budget at this time.

All of this is compounded by the costs needed to deal with Prince's hyperthyroid and Mi'ja's hyperthyroid/chronic renal failure/diaphragmatic hernia, and regular day-to-day care for my little animal family.

If I can get a total of $300, Speck can get further diagnostics to see what the mass in her belly is.

If I can get a total $500, I can pay off my veterinary credit card and not have to worry about it maxing out again for awhile and Speck, Mi'ja, and Prince will each be able to get their diagnostics when they need it.

If I can get a total of $700, I can pay for all of Speck's diagnostics and whatever treatment she might need without me having to go back into debt.

If somehow this campaign succeeds beyond my wildest dreams and I can get a total of $1500, I can take care of the debt and also pay for Prince to get radiation therapy to destroy his thyroid tumor so that he doesn't need meds at all. Currently he is on the thyroid med as well as an anti-nausea/appetite stimulant med which counteracts the side-effects of the thyroid med.

Anything above that would go to maintenance care for the sick animals, well-checks for the healthy-but-aging ones, and dentals for everyone.
