Bill's Community Fund

Bill Fitzgerald is one of those people who is difficult to ignore. One look into his twinkly eyes and you know that he has many stories to tell. Most of them are about people he has met in his many journeys of being someone who has always helped other people. In his lifetime, Bill has been able to help others because he really knows how to listen. I had the honor of witnessing Bill in action when we worked together for several years. He is one of the most patient people I have ever met, and because of this, people who might not normally open up end up talking to Bill. Bill listens, and finds solutions for people. He has used his gifts and abilites as a teacher, a social worker, a massage therapist and a leader in the community and in the fight against HIV, homophobia and discrimination. He inspired people who were out of hope to try again.

Recently, Bill came upon some very hard times financially and with his health. Even though he has helped so many, he had no one to turn to. But luckily, people who worked with him and know of his gift for helping others got together and decided it was time to help him (because like many helpers, he would never ask for help himself!).  Let's help Bill with funds for a downpayment on an apartment so that he can regroup and get back on his feet. Hard times can happen to anyone, but someone who has helped so many others certainly deserves a little helping hand in a time of need! Let's give Bill some hope and show him how much he is loved and appreciated for all of the ways that he has touched the lives of so many.
