Hello! One of the most significant and historic venues in Country, Bluegrass, and Old Time Music could use your help. Thank you for taking the time to review our project!
The Carter Family Fold is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and presentation of the history, culture, and traditions of Old Time and Bluegrass music. And of course, the name and legacy of the original Carter Family! Maybelle, Sara , and A.P. Carter!
At the Fold, we rely on attedance fees, donations, and volunteers to keep the promise Janette Carter gave to her Father, A.P. Carter, as he lie on his deathbed. To faithfully preserve the music of The Carter Family. The same promise Rita Forrester, our current Executive Diretor, gave to her Mother Janette Carter before she passed. To carry on the legacy of her Grandfather's music.
The Carter Family Fold presents live shows of Old Time and Bluegrass music every Saturday night! We have done so for the last 40 years in a row! A fact we are mighty proud of. That does however put some strain on the equipment.
State and Federal level funding for the Arts has withered away and in the last several years has become virtualy non-existent. Ticket prices and a small army of volunteers greatly help, but the "Fold Grounds" consist of: The A.P. Carter Birthplace Cabin, The Carter Family Museum, and of course, The Carter Family Fold.
So here we are asking you to help us maintain our graounds and replace some of our out-dated and frazzled sound equipment. It is, after all, important for the music and culture you are trying to preserve to be accurately heard and understood.
All donations go (directly) to The Carter Family Fold and are tax deductable. Thank you for your time. And thank you for your donation! You have helped to preserve a piece of music history.
