STVM Baseball's Hits for MS

Donation protected
In 2014, St. Vincent-St. Mary baseball player Ian Dillard came up with an idea to help spread awareness and support for people who suffer from Multiple Sclerosis (MS), a debilitating disease without a cure. Ian's mother Jodi has MS, as did his grandmother, so this disease hits very close to home for Ian.

From there, Hits for MS was born within the St. Vincent-St. Mary baseball program. For each hit the varsity team had last year, people pledged a specific amount. With the support of coaches, players, parents, and friends, the Irish baseball program was able to raise over $2,000 for Multiple Sclerosis. All funds were donated to the Oak Clinic, a non-profit organization in Uniontown, Ohio. The Oak Clinic is unique in the sense that its sole focus is on MS. It also doesn't turn away patients who are unable to pay. Our mission as well as theirs was a perfect fit.

In 2015, we want to take this effort to the next level. Our fundraising goal is $5,000, but we believe we can do so much more. We are giving people two ways to donate: they can either pledge a specific amount per hit through a STVM baseball player or they can make a one time donation on our GoFundMe page. We cannot thank you enough for supporting St. Vincent-St. Mary baseball's Hits for MS campaign. Every dollar helps give someone with MS more comfort physically, emotionally, and financially.

Ian with sister Claudia and his grandma Kay. Ian's grandmother, who suffered with MS for many years, passed away unexpectantly this past November 2014. Kay was so proud of Ian's accomplishments in baseball. One of her favorite things was being able to watch Ian beat Hoban at Canal Park last year.

Ian with his mom Jodi. His mother has fought through MS her whole life and always keeps a positive attitude and a great sense of humor! One of her favorite things to do is watch Ian compete on the baseball field.
