Hi folks, thank you for taking interest in my Go Fund Me. My name is Mirta Estrada and I am humbled to be a part of the rescue team of Paws 2 Care Coalition. Our organization is a Non-Profit and we rely on generosity of many Dog Lovers in our community. We rescue the unwanted, homeless, misunderstood and code Red (ready to be euthanized) doggies, mostly from Miami Dade Animal Services, a HIGH KILL shelter. The word shelter is of course an oxy-moron because a shelter is a place to find refuge and feel safe. This is the furthest thing from the truth for most of the dogs that end up here. The dogs and cats that end up at MDAS are mostly strays that have been discarded in the streets by their owners, left to fend for themselves. The mentality that a dog is JUST an anmal does not sit well with animal lovers as myself. Other dogs end up at this so called shelter are turned in by their owners with excuses such as "they are too hyper" 'they are too old" "I'm having a baby and don't have time for the dog" "My new g/friend or b/friend doesn't like dogs" "I'm moving" or plain and simple "I don't want them anymore". Ana Bueno the founder of this organization and my dear friend is relentless in saving as many dogs from "the needle", as she possibly can. This is her passion, her mission in life and I am excited and proud to be a part of this Rescue.
Ana over the years has saved over 900 dogs!! She has rescued dogs that have been in the streets for so long that their hair is so badly matted around a limb that we needed to amputate (this particular dog Danny was adopted by a loving woman who adores her 3 legged best friend). We have saved dogs thrown in a dumpster that were chained down with a cement block, left to die. We later realized that this dog was a Bait dog, thrown into a pitbull fight for the other dogs to tear him up. He was found with multiple bite marks and both ears mangled. . All our rescues are vetted, groomed and given lots of love until they get adopted. Athena is another rescue that was found yelping in a cement yard, thrown in a mixer and left to die...Pregnant! A good Samaritan heard her cries and there she was, dying and surrounded by her dead puppies. Athena has since been adopted and Is loved by a great family! We are here hoping to get funds for a new or used Cargo Van. The van we use to transport doggies for adoption events is comparible with the Scooby Doo cartoon Van. It literally is in deplorable condition. Believe it or not half the buttons on the dashboard are melted because it have an electric problem. We gave up on the a/c since it has its own mind and works when it wants. The van also has a leak causing all our items to get damped when it rains. We have even turned down invitaions to attend other events because we are just scared to drive the extra distance. This van is of the utmost importance since we do many events at Petsmart which helps bring awareness to the cause we hold near and dear... ADOPT, don't shop for a dog or cat. The van is also used to carry large bags of dog food, cleaning supplies, cages, and multiple doggies at any given time that need to be seen by the Vet or groomed! We also use our van to take our dogs to a nearby doggie park. We show these dogs the love they never knew before. Please consider us for your donation, we desperately need a Van!
