Hello everyone,
My name is Nicholas.
I’m a seven-week old kitten abandoned by my mother on the streets of Oman. Luckily some kindly humans spotted me outside their office and rescued me. I think they felt sorry for me. They named me Nicholas (after Saint Nicholas, it is the festive season after all) and all I want for Christmas is to live and find a home.
I am in pretty bad shape, as you can see.
The vet says I have cat flu and I was so poorly that if I hadn’t been saved, I would have died in two days. I was really dehydrated.
One of my ears has collapsed from being bitten but I reckon it kind of makes me look endearing, don’t you think? One of my eyes is badly infected, which might leave me blind in that eye or I may have to lose it and have an operation. I still have one gorgeous hazel eye though.
I am doing better but I still need a lot of care and I’m not out of the woods yet. The vet is very pleased with me as I’m scoffing lots of food and enjoying my cage at the animal hospital in Muscat, where I live.
I might be ill but I have the biggest personality! People say that I’m a sweet, friendly boy with so much love to give if I had the chance.
Some of my human rescuers are clubbing together in the office to foot the bills for my treatment (the vet says I have a 50 per cent chance to pull through).
If I make it – and I am a real fighter - they will then try to find a forever home for me.
If you can help us with my bills, I would appreciate it, and any amount will help so much.
We don’t know the exact figure for my care but any extra funds will be donated to the vets and animal charity Omani Paws to help them out with all the animals they rescue too just like me.
