MAMA JONES From VH1's Love and Hip Hop is my 1st Official Customer

After contacting her on a whim with a couple sample drawings, Nancy Jones has confirmed that she would like me to Put together a couple of dresses! I want to really impress her, since my first impression is my more important! I really need some help getting all the materials together to create her something beautiful and unique. 

My name is Margi Furtado and I'm Not like Nelly!

I am a young Filipino designer that is hoping to finally bring my designs from paper to life. I have been drawing and designing since I was 12 years old and have been selling my art since middle school. I became interested in fashion in high school. There were not a lot of clothes that appealed to my personal tastes and that inspired me to start drawing up  my own designs. I look to design for the everyday woman; lean, curvaceous, athletic, EVERYONE. I feel every one has the right to look and feel good. Ultimately I would like to design for those that also have physical deformities. I know how difficult it is for families to find nice clothes for kids that are are born with extra limbs, missing limbs or attached siblings  like Siamese twins etc.  (you get the point) I feel like EVERYONE has the right to be happy and feel beautiful at the end of the day!

Since then I have put my dreams and aspirations on the back burner to pursue more conventional ways of living, like going to college, raising a family, and working for a living. But, like most, times have become hard and I am now looking for another way to get extra income in the house without having to take away the time I need to raise my children. I have sewing skills already and have the artistic talent, but don't have the extra funds to start. 

Now that things have slowed down after having my second child; I am ready to dedicate the time to jump starting my business. Right now My goal is to come out with my first line of clothing to debut at the Phoenix fashion week next year.  I am in need of a Sewing machine, fabric,a manaquin, and all the other things in between like zippers, thread, etc.  I am not asking for a lot because I know that times are hard, and its hard to give when you don't have extra to do so. But If you can just give a couple dollars; every little bit helps. 

What can you get out of this? Because I appreciate ANY AND ALL help, I want to show you how much i do. Have you ever wanted to have a dress that we tailored to not only your shape but to your own personal liking? WELL YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS TO DO IT! I take personal requests and do consultations to design the dress that's perfect for my client. I promise that those that donate more than $25 I can design and sew a simple design for free.
