Help for Harris Fund

The next chapter of my sister and her husband's lives was rewritten by a senseless act.  They are ready to fight - but they need our help!

On Feb 6th, Lawrence was at work on the phone with his wife while trimming the beard of one of his final clients when the door of the barber shop was pushed open and shots were fired.

Lawrence fell to the ground feeling as if a sledge hammer had smashed into his knee.  With the taste of gun powder in his mouth and smoke in the air, he sees his friend and co-worker fighting for his life on the floor near him... Lawrence tried to move but could not get to him.

Jaime, who was still on the phone, hears the chaos and the moans for help.. she yells out for Lawrence.. the call ends.  Lawrence answers when she quickly called back and said, "Baby, call an ambulance.. I've been shot."

In a moment, so many lives were changed forever.

41 year old Keith Liggins' life was taken and 37 year old Lawrence Harris' femur was shattered by a bullet in one incredibly senseless act as these barbers were trying to make a living for their families.

Lawrence had three surgeries to rebuild the shattered femur and will have another surgery to fill the empty space the bullet left behind next month.   He is unable to put pressure on his leg for three months as the bone attempts to heal and will be recovering for more than 9 months with tough physical therapy.  With a severe injury like this, the risk of infection and other issues is high which may result in more surgeries and more than likely require a full knee replacement in the future.  His life has forever been changed.

Lawrence and his wife, Jaime, have 5 children and are expecting their first grandchild in July.  Your generous donation will help with their immediate, ongoing and future medical bills, and loss of income as Lawrence is unable to work and Jaime's FMLA time to support her husband is unpaid.  They are prepared to fight during this battle of recovery but they need your help.
