Opera singer/ Documentary Filmmaker/ Environmentalist....?
When people asked me what I was going to be when I grew up, I never would have guessed... but here I am.
In the last 6 months I've graduated with a Masters in Advocacy and Political Leadership, won second prize in a graduate level singing competition, and got paid to travel to the west coast and sing Escamillo in Tragedy of Carmen.
Now that my degree is finished, it's time to start ramping up work on my life's goal-- to help secure the future of humanity.
Sounds crazy-- but I mean it!
I have some big plans in the next few months, but I need your help.
In my spare time over the last few years, I've been working on a film I'm calling, "The Best Thing Since Fire." It's a look at where we're at, where we're going, and where we COULD go if we deployed Molten Salt Reactors around the world. Ya know-- stuff like eradicate global poverty, desalinate vast quantities of water along parched coasts, write fossil fuels into the history books, and avert catastrophic effects from climate change!
I already have hard drives full of fantastic footage (interviews with brilliant physicists, policy thinkers, and some shots of me singing climate change related opera). I need some more interviews and footage to bring this documentary together.
With this gofundme, I'll be able to finance my trip to Palo Alto this June to the Thorium Energy Alliance Conference. While I'm there I'll also be touring Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks and getting some shots of the biggest trees in the world for the documentary.
What are you getting? Well, for funding me you'll get a bit of satisfaction for helping to spread awareness about a technology that might just save our planet, help the global poor, and reignite the american economy.
Stay tuned for more video updates, including some operatic performances about this promising technology.
