Friends and Family,
For quite a while now, it has been my heart's desire to go on a mission trip to serve God's people in another country. Yet despite my prayers, doors kept closing and it was blatantly not yet time. Throughout my final months in college, I finally feel the Lord calling me to "go!", and through Gainesville Young Life's partnership in Haiti, I've been given the opportunity to do just that.
During our week-long trip to Haiti, most of our time will be spent in the rural village of Maissade constructing a community center. We will then be visiting Young Life's Good Shepherd School in Port-au-Prince, and getting a taste of the beautiful Haitian culture from Haitian Young Life Leaders there.

to bring good news to the poor."
Departing just two days after my college graduation, I cannot think of a better way to start the next chapter of my life than embarking on a trip that will forever remind me to let Jesus' mission statement be my mission statement.
