Help Me Keep My Car Going

Donation protected
I cannot take the anxiety I experience on a daily basis over my car anymore. I am in constant fear of the next problem being the last one. I feel sick whenever I turn the key and I want to pull over and stop driving every time the tiniest bump on the road feels like a pothole. I'm tired of living in fear of the something going wrong on the car because I cannot come up with the money to fix it. This is my real last chance at getting my car fixed until I can save up for a new one.

So, my car is not in the best shape, mechanically. After being purchased in New England, and then driven back and forth to South Florida from Connecticut several times (not to mention numerous trips from Miami to Ft Myers, Orlando, Tallahassee, Punta Gorda, St. Petersburg, and Tampa), the car became my daily driver several years ago due to extenuating family circumstances. A long story short, when I was a student I was putting 200+ miles a week on my car. Good news is, I only drive to work (mostly) now, so I use it a bit less. Downside is mechanical problems are growing and I have no means to fix it.

I'm trying to save up for a new car, but that's a bit difficult when I keep having to pour all my money back into this car. I also need to worry about starting to pay back my student loans, and I still owe my university $500 (which I am currently selling off a good deal of my belongings on ebay to try to make up the slack. And that's about all it will cover). I work at Starbucks and I will be getting promoted to shift supervisor soon, but that won't be for a couple weeks and if my car falls apart on me I have no easy way of getting to work. :(

What does my car need? These are the mechanical repairs it needs:
1) Timing belt and water pump
2) Shock Absorbers
3) Air conditioning system (the whole thing, not just the condensor or the compressor, and also includes the serpentine belt which currently does not run to the A/C)
4) Driver's side window motor regulators
The A/C has not worked since September 2009, and the window regulators on the driver's side crapped out on me early last year, which has led to some unfortuante rain related incidents with the cloth backseat of my car.

So I know what you might be asking. Why not ride your bike, or take public transportation?

Riding a bike is my last resort. The road distance between my house and where I work is ten miles. It would also mean having to cross Okeechobee Road, a four lane road with a 50 MPH speed limit, plus crossing several railroad tracks. Not to mention the weather, which could easily cause severe health problems.
Why is public transportation not an option? I usually close my store, and my store closes, at the earliest 10 PM. The last bus runs around 9:45. So public transportation simply will not work.

I know I'm asking for a lot of money, but even a little bit helps. Please consider spreading this, at least, if you can't donate. Anything, even just reposting or reblogging this, helps.
