Hey there.
My name is Riley Gibson and I'm a 21 year old trans guy and digital artist who lost my home back in December 2013. Since then I've extremely blessed to live with a friend's family, however that arrangement has ended now that they're moving and I no longer have anywhere to go.
I need to be able to pay for my own place, but I also want to finish my college education. Getting a job is tough becuase I'm still learning how to drive. I struggle to make payments on just about everything, and I'm deathly afraid of going into debt and winding up on the streets.
I really need help. I hate to reach out and ask for money like this, but I don't have many other options to turn to. If you guys can help me get me on my feet, I will be eternally greatful. I will also start offering art commissions again if I manage to get enough money to fix my broken computer.
2015 Update:
Currently living in a friend's condo and sleeping in one of their coat closets. It's hurting my back pretty bad since I have scoliosis, but finding an apartment and roomate has been rough.
Also, the DMV finally sent me my state ID after delaying it for 4 months....it doesn't even have the right gender on it. Fun times. But hey, at least I have valid ID again and can apply for jobs...
I'm hoping to move out by late March/early April and into an apartment if things work out okay. I don't think I'll be able to afford school and some of my medical bills though.
April/May Update:
I moved into an apartment but holy shit finding a job has not gone well. I can barely manage getting interviews, let alone a call back after said interview. I've resorted to fishing Craigslist ads as of yesterday but progress has been...unsatisfactory.
I just paid my second month of rent and I'm watching my funds slowly drop to zero. Been eating the same meal for about 2 1/2 weeks or so to save money, but even that's starting to run out.
(Oh yeah, and I turned 22 in April)
