Help Mr Rocco

Donation protected
Just a month ago we celebrated Rocco's 1st birthday with some wet food and a little tin foil crown I made him wear...a few weeks after we adopted a new puppy...at first all was fine but notice Rocco withdrawing more and losing weight but thought it was just new stress from having a rambunctious puppy running around but couldn't shake the feeling it might be more so scheduled an appointment with the vet just in case.

On the way to the vet I was singing to him (as I often do to my "kids") to the tune of "you are my sunshine" but with changed lyrics:

You are my Rocco, my only Rocco, I love you so much because your grey, you'll never know dear, how much I love you, please don't take my Rocco away.

The thought of not having him seemed impossible but singing those words also felt scary...what if it was something more?!

Unfortunately our vet did blood work and a chem panel and suspected FIP (Feline infectious peritonitis) a somewhat rare but deadly disease but sent us home with antibiotics hoping he would feel better and that she was wrong...this was June 2nd.

June 8th we had a follow up and although his white blood cell count was up he was less anemic but had also lost a little more weight (down 2.5lbs from his normal 10) but she was hopeful though we did try different antibiotic. At this point he was very weak and was having some issues walking but was still getting around.

Unfortunately as of June 12th he is down to 7lbs, white blood cells up higher and he can barely walk and has urinated in place. The vet at this point is pretty certain it's  FIP.  At this point there's nothing vets can do but there has been studies going on with great success in curing this disease but it's a  costly and long treatment.

I feel like my animals are my responsibility and I hate to ask for help but I CAN'T lose my Rocco....he is the sweetest, most laided back, loving cat I have ever known. He follows me around like a dog, lays on my hips or my lap whenever he can. He LOVES fuzzy blankets and playing with his brother and sisters. Everyone loves this cat and he has the best relationship with the other animals.  And he is ONLY 1 YEAR OLD!! I can't lose him so, so young! So please, I know times are tough, but ANYTHING you can spare will help saving this sweet, sweet boy!
Thanks for reading and you know I'll keep you posted!
