Ella Rose is 5 year’s old and as you can see, her smile is contagious. She has been through a lot in her short life but smiles through any adversity put in her way.
Ella was born with Lissencephaly, Microcephaly and Quadriplegia. Ella’s condition is a rare, gene-linked brain malformation. It is incurable and life shortening.
Ella also has fluid in her ears which means she needs specialist hearing aids, and she has a gastric tube fitted to help her eat. She cannot eat and drink by mouth. Ella also has epilepsy. As a result, she doesn’t sleep very well and is prone to seizures. As her condition deteriorates, her seizures are lasting longer and are more severe. Sometimes afterwards she doesn’t recognise Nana and Grandad (Sue and Dave).
Ella has been cared for by her amazing Grandparents since she was 6 months old, they now have legal custody and have devoted their life and soul into making sure Ella gets the best care possible.
Unfortunately, the hospice, Gracie’s Place, Ella and her family were reliant on is closing. This means the amazing, tailored individual care for Ella will stop. It means the emotional support for Sue and Dave from Gracie’s Place is gone. She is in and out of hospital and as her conditions worsen, Ella’s options are limited. Her Grandparents are doing all they can with the support from Ella’s school, family and friends. Despite this help, between appointments and endless medications, Ella does not have the life of a typical, carefree 5 year old.
We need your help to raise some money for this beautiful little girl so she can have the best quality of life she can whilst she is here with us. We need your help to raise some money to support these absolutely fantastic Grandparent’s to continue to care for Ella and access the resources they need to. We need your help to give Ella and her family have the opportunity to spend some precious time with each other and create memories they will treasure forever.
