Harley's "beating cancer campaign"

Harley was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour in June 2014.
Since being diagnosed with a brain stem tumour Harley has gone through a year of chemo, then within months due to a second tumour being found on his spinal cord, went through six weeks of Radiation Therapy immediately after.
Harley was working as a personal trainer and volunteered as a coach for two much loved kids soccer teams. Since December when he started to suffer some pretty major symptoms he has had to stop working and stop coaching the kids.
Imagine it...one day you're fit, capable, independent, then you're not. It's not mind over matter. All the things you take for granted, well your body just won't co-operate. You just can't do it. At the moment Harley can't eat or drink properly, can't walk, can't talk. Every step is an enormous challenge.
And not being able to work... Well, it's a snowball effect, the bills keep coming.
Six months after Radiation Therapy, because of complications Harley has had to undergo fortnightly infusions of a drug Avastin, which is not on the Government PBS list. Avastin costs anywhere between $2000-$5000 each infusion depending on the dose. Before, we were told that 4 infusions would be needed to reduce the inflammation, now we have been told it's tumour, not just inflammation. He has been booked in for his 4th and 5th infusions with further more to come.
Harley has also started another round of chemotherapy so we are all in the dark as to where this will lead. The doctors have said it's only a matter of time, while referring him to Palliative care which to his credit he is refusing. Harley as stubborn as he is, is not one to give up that easily.
Harley has never asked for help. His family and friends are in awe of his strength but he is facing a major battle. We all welcome your love, your thoughts and your prayers.
