Lexmas in September: Bday Fund
Is it just me or has my life flown by?
Just 28 years ago, this was me.
My birthday on September 25th is fast approaching. I'll be turning the ripe old age of 28 and I begin inching just a little bit closer to 30 years old. I know that picking out a gift can sometimes be the most arduous task so this year I'm forgoing any formal gifts. Instead, in lieu of a present, I'd appreciate it if you'd donate to my birthday fund.
It's been an incredible ride the past 27 years and in my 28th year on this planet, I intend on pursuing more of my passions. This year is all about new experiences, learning and my personal growth. So instead of using the donations to buy myself a bunch of material things like clothes and gadgets that don't really matter, my goal is to really invest in myself.
A few examples of what your contributions will allow me to achieve include:
Take personal and professional enrichment classes.
Travel. As you may know, I'm an avid traveler. I've been across the country multiple times and I still cannot get enough. NYC, LA, SF, Amsterdam, Bali... I want to see it all!

Relocation. While New Orleans will always be home, sometimes out of state job offers are just too amazing to turn down.
Pay off educational debt. Because who actually likes Sallie Mae calling them?
Application fees to apply to another university program.
Make charitable contributions to my favorite organizations. This is including donations to the American Cancer Society
in the names of my father who passed away from lung cancer and my two aunts that were recently diagnosed with breast cancer.

Rent for a gallery space of my own.
And if that's not reason enough, how about I sing a little for my supper?
