Hello, my name is Kayla Rodriguez, and I am an undergraduate at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri and the President of Spanish Film Club.
This fall semester, during Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15th - October 15th, Northwest and MCCKC - Maple Wood's Hispanic Student Organization, Juntos, are teaming up to host a Spanish Film Festival at both campuses to promote Hispanic Heritage and cultural diversity.
Maple Woods is working to show 2 Hispanic Films
September 21st and September 23rd.
Northwest is working to show 5 Hispanic Films October 7-9th.
We want to open this unique event not only to campus students, but to the community as well. Each film represents a different Hispanic country, and our goal is to integrate the many different cultures of Hispanic heritage. Below is a list of the movies and the countries we will represent at our film festival.

Peru and Colombia ...........Contracorriente
Spain.........................................Arrugas
Venezuela..............................Libertador
Mexico.....................................Despues de Lucia
Currently we are working on organizing workshops and interviews with filmmakers and film crews, raising money to pay for our movies from Pragda Spanish Film Club, promoting the event, and overall bringing people together!
In order to make this event more meaningful, NW Missouri State University's and MCCKC's - Maple Woods Hispanic Organizations' need some assistance with this cultural event.
