Are the numbers between me and my 2016 goals.
I am $6000 dollars short of the funding necessary for my 2016 track and field season.
I am 330 days away from the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.
I am 0.28 seconds shy of the 100mH olympic standard.
As some of you may know, I have recently moved to Toronto to train with the national speed/ hurdle coaches. This is a great opportunity to train as a full time athlete in an elite atmosphere for the first time leading up to the games.
As a member of this group, I train starting at 11am daily for a large portion of the day. There are times I don't end up leaving the track till 5 or 6 pm. We also travel to warm weather training camps and leave for months at a time. Warm weather camps/running outside on a large track is necesssary as the indoor tracks in Canada do not facilitate the 100mH race.
Because of this intensive training schedule and inflexible hours, it is hard to maintain a job that will fund the bills. Rent, living, and training expenses in Toronto are not cheap. I do have some funding and family help which helps to cover some of these expenses, but it doesnt cover all the expenses associated with being a competive athlete.
Any little bit of support helps!
Thanks for taking the time to read my story and help support me on my Road to Rio!
