Teresa Bloss is one of the most compassionate and sincere people I know. I met Teresa years ago when our boys befriended each other in 4th grade (they are now juniors in high school - and still best friends). Teresa and I naturally became friends- not only because our boys were together all the time, but also because I was drawn to her wonderful spirit.

Let me tell you a bit about my great friend’s spirit. There is so much to tell. Teresa is a wonderful, loving, and giving single mother of five beautiful children. Her two oldest children live out of the house, and are leading very productive and successful lives. Her life has been dedicated to her children. She is the type of mother who attends every sports event (even in the snow, rain, sleet or extreme heat), every school play, concert or event. She talks extensively with their teacher’s, and is involved heavily in her children’s lives. She ensures they each have what they need - while she goes without. She makes sure they feel safe and are loved. She is truly an amazing mother!

Teresa is a woman of great faith. I personally feel privileged to be around her when she talks about God and her beliefs. She is well versed biblically and yet is incredibly open-minded. Her spirit is free of discrimination and judgment. She is a woman who not only “talks the talk” but clearly, she “walks the walk.” I have envied her profound faith for many years.

Teresa’s entire life has been riddled with difficulties. She has been through so much, and yet nothing has gotten her down. Her inner strength, gratitude, and love for life is truly inspiring. Years before we met, Teresa was diagnosed with breast cancer. She fought for her life and won a horrific battle. She was cancer-free for many years.

My greatest friend informed me at the end of August that the cancer was back. This time with a vengeance! Cancer cells are growing rapidly throughout her tiny body. (Teresa is a mere 5 feet tall - on a good day - and she weighs only about 100 pounds.) This news is clearly devastating, to say the least!

Teresa has worked so hard to provide for her family. Teresa cleans others’ homes to earn money. She chose this grueling occupation because she is able to create her own hours. She works for herself and has no help. It has always been of upmost importance to her that she is available to her children. As I said, she is a dedicated and loving mother who takes her role seriously.

Unfortunately, her illness is beginning to take its toll on her. As the medical bills are piling up, her physical health is slowing down. Her job is so physically demanding that she is unable to keep up. She is up and down with strength and energy. She has no life savings. She has no extra income. If she doesn’t work – she makes no money. With no money, they go without. I am asking friends, family, and loved ones to help Teresa fight for her life, again.

Since we are all in this thing called life - TOGETHER - let’s please help each other! The potential impact of your gifts will be monumental! The money raised will go directly to Teresa so she can continue fighting for her life, for her children. and for herself.
