Jamie needs a new car to get to Drs

Jamie Jacobson is a 28 year old wife and mother to 2 young boys, Colin age 7 and Tucker, who has Cystic Fibrosis, age 5.  While Jamie was pregnant with Tucker she experienced several complications which resulted in her body developing a condition called Psuedo Tumor Cerebeli.  Normally this condition is easily treated through weight loss, medication or surgery.    Over the past 5 years Jamie has been working with a team of physicians who have tried every possible method to reverse this condition but due to unique differences in the structure of Jamie's brain she has not responded to the normal forms of treatment, instead, the pressures of the fluid in her brain have risen so high that she has lost her eyesight in her left eye on several occassions, with some permanent damage that has occurred as a result of scar tissue which has built up on her optic nerve and is now beginning to have issues with the vision in her right eye as well.  The only thing that the doctors have been able to do to prevent her from loosing her vision has been to do spinal taps each month to lower the pressure in her eye and against the optic nerve.  Due to the complexity of her case Jamie has had to seek treatment from a specialist in Seattle as none of the local doctors have been able to treat her.   After 5 years of monthly spinal taps Jamie has had scar tissue form around her spine which makes each tap increasingly dangerous and more difficult to do.  Jamie's condition has reached an extremely dangerous level and the neurological surgeon she is seeing in Seattle has determined that she needs to have surgery immediately and a date for the surgery has been set for Nov. 17, 2014.
Jamie, her husband Ron and myself, her mother, are all rushing trying to get all the details taken care of which will allow for travel to Seattle, as well as the related expenses of hotels, food, gas, etc. for the time that Jamie will be in Harborview Medical Center.
This request is for help in paying for all the expenses related to this surgery that are not covered by insurance including travel expenses, food, hotel, child care, and assistance with covering the household bills that will still need to be paid while Ron is away from work for at least one week, possibly longer while Jamie is in the hospital.   Ron has limited paid time off available as the family is just coming out of having their youngests son who has cystic fibrosis in the hospital for 21 days, many of which he was in critical condition, requiring Ron to miss work during that time and using his paid vacation days that he had been saving for the time that Jamie would eventually have this surgery, leaving the family with the prospect of being unable to afford the added expense of being in Seattle and meeting their household bills as well so she is able to heal without being stressed about having unpaid bills while Ron is with her at the hospital.
Please help us as we seek to remove some of the stress from this young family who is facing this medical emergency and immenent brain surgery.  Every day that she goes without surgery is causing additional damage to several areas in Jamie's brain in addition to the loss of her eye sight,  Your help and support will allow the family to proceed with the surgery as it is currently scheduled for 9 days from now and if they are not able to gather the needed resources it would have to be rescheduled and would not be able to happen for several more months, allowing additional damage to occur, including the loss of sight in her other eye as well.
Thank you in advance for your financial help and assistance in getting this surgery behind Jamie so she can return to full health and resume her normal daily activities and be able to take care of their 5 year old son who is beginning to experience complications with his cystic fibrosis.

Following Jamie's surgery she was involved in a rollover accident which totalled the family's SUV that they depended on to get to medical appointments, work and school.  Since loosing their main form of transportation the family has been forced to stay in town with family, sleeping on sofas and floor.    They are currently in a contest from a auto dealership to win a van filled with gifts and food which would be such an incredible blessing to this family.  If they win, they will be required to cover the taxes, fees, etc. associated with winning the van.  If they don't win, they need to be able to purchase a dependable vehicle that will allow them to return to their home and get their family back on the road to emotional recovery as well as physcial recovery from the surgeries Jamie and Tucker have had recently.  We are also concerned that the accident caused further injury to Jamie's incision and repairs made to resolve her brain issues last month.  If this is the case, there are going to be additional expenses that the family needs assistance with.  Please, help us help this family get through these challenges and give them the peace of mind to know their financial challenges are taken care of so they can get a vehicle and return to their home to celebrate Christmas!

Thank you!
