Help Blaise Get His Service Dog

My family and I have started on a journey that will change our lives forever. We are in the process of getting our angel Blaise who is 6 1/2 years old a service dog. Blaise has Prader Willi Syndrome and Autism. Prader Willi Syndrome is a potentially life threatening genetic disorder. One of the main components of Prader Willi is that my son is ALWAYS hungry. Blaise does not feel fullness, ever. My son suffers from a horrible pain in his stomach telling him he is hungry every waking moment of his life. Blaise can never be left alone with food or in an enviornment where food is unsecured. If Blaise is left alone with food he could potentially eat him self to death. Our lives are a 24 hour vigil to keep him safe. Some of the other issues we face with Blaise are his wandering out of the house and potentially hurting himself. There are dangers all around and his constant eloping(running) outside has reached a critical level. LIfe has become very complicated with Blaise's cognitive delays, this coupled with the hunger and social difficulties from Autism have taken our family into another entire level of difficulty. A service dog for Blaise would be life changing for us. This dog could help keep Blaise safe from the kitchen and food. A dog could alert us if Blaise's has slipped away in the split second that we might walk away. This dog could help ease some of Blaise's social anxiety and allow him the opportunity to be more of a prescence in social situations. The food issue is a huge deal for us. The thought that my son could die from eating himself to death keep s me up at night. It is just one of many things that cripple Blaise and our family more often than we would like. There is another major issue that prevents us from living a more normal and safe life, that is the anxiety that can be all encompassing or my little angel. This service dog could help connect with Blaise on a level that nobody else has been able to master. A service dog can be trained to connect with my son emotionally to help keep him safe and calm in those moments where Blaise feels so out of control and he is ready to harm himself.My son is one of the most amazing children you will ever meet. Blaise has the ability to brighten the lives of all he meets. I want to do all that I can to give my son the best chance at not only a happy life but a safe life. I do all I can but I feel that I am just one hand too short.
