Amber's Volunteer Trip

Hello everyone! I have a passion for volunteering.  Everyone struggles and it's my way of extending my hand to help up the world. I have many years across all boards of volunteering under my belt. My next mission is to not only help in my local community, but around the world. I heard about ISV (International Student Volunteers) and immediately fell in love. There were options to several countries outside the United States, but what stuck out to me was the Dominican Republic. The goal of this particular program was to help underprivileged children and families. Not only would I focus on educating children in basic English, Math, Geogrphy, Science, and Health Education, I would help in building projects for community infrastructures in rural areas. Although it sounded like a dream come true, my wallet did not seem to think so. The expenses includes things like: project fees, operating costs, transportation, meals, administration and recruitment costs, program research, and otheraccomodations.
