Guardia de mi Hermano

Hello Everyone,

My name is Michael Andres Morales, a student at San Francisco State University. A couple months back my film crew and I entered a movie festival, otherwise known as Campus Moviefest. 

As an involved member in my latino community I wanted to take the opportunity that this project presented to further connect with problems that our people face within the Latino community. Our people are affected directly as well by various other ways to the problem of drugs and gang violence. "Guardai de mi Hermano" addresses this issue through the story of two brothers in their attempts to look out for each other, in the face of poverty.

My film won 1st place and was recently selected by the Campus Moviefest organization to be at the 2018 Cannes International Film Festival. Known as the world’s most prestigious and publicized film festival, Cannes is an amazing opportunity to attend and screen your movie in the South of France. This has truly been a blessing and a once in a lifetime opportunity, however, funding the trip is an issue as it requires a total amount of 3k, this is not including airfare and food. To lock in my place in the program, CMF is asking for a $1,500 deposit on January 19th. As a full time student and a part time employee, I'm only able to cover so much of the total cost, which is why I'm turning to my friends, family and general donors who might be willing to lend me a hand. 


Presenting this film and all that it stands for at the festival is already so close to reality, it would be disheartening to have these fee's stand in the way. 

The main purpose I've created this Gofund me account is to ask for your help in getting our community represented, through the film as well as myself, at a worldwide level. Any amount of donation will help and is truly appreciated. My community is what inspired me to create this film in the first place and that is why I ask for your help today.
